This is a compilation of scenes from Ridley Scott’s movie “1492,” portraying Christopher Columbus’ first contact with the New World.

[Note: The movie portrays the native peoples as being harmed and enslaved by the Spanish, but it mostly portrays associates of Columbus as being the perpetrators rather than him.  Apparently Columbus also took part in such behavior though according to writings of people who were there at the time, as detailed in a 2012 book Columbus: The Four Voyages, 1492-1504.]
