In this video, Stephan Milo points out issues with the “Solutrean Hypothesis,” explaining that it is not actually likely that ancient Europeans populated the Americas.

Following are the points he makes:

— There are differences between the design of Solutrean spear tips and Clovis spear tips.

— The Solutreans often made tools from bones, but Clovis did not.

— The Solutreans created cave paintings and engravings, but the Clovis people did not.

— The earliest Clovis sites date from 13,400 years ago, but the Solutreans evolved into a new culture by 17 thousand years ago, which is a gap of 5 thousand years.

— A Clovis spear head was dredged up from the sea floor of the Chesapeake Bay along with a Mastodon head that dates to 22,760 years ago, but the nature of the discovery makes the dating of it unreliable.

— Most of the radiocarbon dates of the surroundings of the Clovis heads predate the Solutrean period by thousands of years.

— Recent studies have cast doubt on the existence of an unbroken ice sheet spanning the northern Atlantic ocean, and the ocean currents moved toward Europe at the time, making the potential journey from Europe be very difficult to accomplish.

— Solutrean peoples did not settle in the colder northern parts of Europe, even though they were supposedly well-adapted to living that way.

— The genetics don’t actually really support the theory of the Solutrean hypothesis as is often claimed, and the DNA of Solutrean people is not even known.
